Blackjack Rules

Blackjack Rules

Before you decide to play Blackjack it is a good idea to learn the rules of the game. That is the only way you can improve your chances of winning in the long run.

The main idea of the game is to get a hand closer to 21, higher than the dealers without going bust. So this means you don’t have to have a hand that totals 21 all the time to win. You need to have a hand that is higher than the dealers to win, or another situation where you can win is if the dealer goes bust.

You play only against the dealer and not against other players. The game starts with placing a bet and the dealer will deal two cards to each player and two cards to themselves. There are a couple of things you can do after you receive the cards that will allow you to improve your hand.

You have the option to stand, this means you will not receive any additional cards, or you can hit, and receive another card. You can get as many cards as you believe are necessary. Other options include split, surrender and double down.

When to surrender?

There are only 2 possible situations when you should consider surrender as an option.

  1. If you have a hand with a total value of 16 against dealer’s 9 through Ace.

  2. And, if you have a hand with a total value of 15 against a dealer 10.

When to split?

You should split your pairs into the following cases:

  • Always split aces.

  • Never split tens.

  • A pair of 9’s splits against dealer 2 through 9, except for 7, otherwise stand.

  • Always split 8’s

  • A pair of 7’s splits against dealer 2 through 7, otherwise hit.

  • A pair of 6’s splits against dealer 2 through 6, otherwise hit.

  • A pair of 5’s doubles against dealer 2 through 9, otherwise hit.

  • A pair of 4’s splits against dealer 5 and 6, otherwise hit.

  • A pair of 3’s splits against dealer 2 through 7, otherwise hit.

  • A pair of 2’s splits against dealer 2 through 7, otherwise hit.

What to do with a soft hand?

When you have an Ace, and the Ace counts as 11 you have a ‘soft’ hand and this is what you should do on any total:

  • You should always stand on soft 20.

  • You should always double against dealer 6, on soft 19, otherwise stand.

  • You should always double against dealer 2 through 6 and hit against 9 through Ace, otherwise stand on soft 18.

  • You should always double against dealer 3 through 6, otherwise hit on soft 17.

  • You should always double against dealer 4 through 6, otherwise hit on soft 16.

  • You should always double against dealer 4 through 6, otherwise hit on soft 15.

  • You should always double against dealer 5 through 6, otherwise hit on soft 14.

  • You should always double against dealer 5 through 6, otherwise hit on soft 13.

What to do with a hard hand?

When you have an Ace that counts as 1, these are the following actions you should take.

  • You should always stand on 17 and more.

  • You should always stand against dealer 2 through 6, otherwise, hit, when you have a hand with a total value of 16.

  • You should always stand against dealer 2 through 6, otherwise, hit, when you have a hand with a total value of 15.

  • You should always stand against dealer 2 through 6, otherwise, hit, when you have a hand with a total value of 14.

  • You should always stand against dealer 2 through 6, otherwise, hit, when you have a hand with a total value of 13.

  • You should always stand against dealer 4 through 6, otherwise, hit, when you have a hand with a total value of 12.

  • You should always double when the total value of your hand is 11.

  • You should always double against dealer 2 through 9 otherwise hit when you have a hand with a total value of 10.

  • You should always double against dealer 3 through 6 otherwise hit when you have a hand with a total value of 9.

  • When you have a hand with a total value of 8 you should always hit.

But before you start playing all those exciting roulette games, you need to learn the rules first. This is one of the most popular casino games and once you learn the basics you can play whatever game you like. Roulette is a game of chance, so at first look, it seems like there is nothing you can do to improve your chances of winning.

Live Roulette rules

Live Roulette rules

To be honest, there is no way you can predict at what number the ball will land. But, there is something you can do to improve your odds. You see, some games offer better chances of winning than others, and if you stick to those bets you will win in the long run.

There are three classic versions of the game, American, European and French roulette. What you need to distinguish here are the different bets you can place while you play. Some bets offer better payouts, but the chances to win them are way smaller, and there are bets you can place that offer lower payouts, but the chances to win them are almost 50-50.

All bets are divided into two large categories, inside and outside bets. Outside bets are bets made on groups of numbers, so for that reason, the chances of winning these bets are way better.

  • Red/Black – this is a bet whether a red number or a black number will win.

  • Odd/Even – this is a bet on whether an even number or odd number will win.

  • High/Low – this is a bet on whether the winning number will be low, from 1 through 18, or high, between 19 through 36.

  • Columns – this is a bet that the winning number will be within one of the three columns of twelve numbers. The first column contains the following numbers 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, 34. The second column contains the following numbers 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29, 32, 35. The third column contains the following numbers 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36.

  • Dozen – this bet covers 12 numbers as well, but this time in order. 1st 12 covers numbers from 1 through 12, 2nd 12 covers numbers from 13 through 24, and the 3rd 12 covers numbers from 25 through 36.

Inside bets can be placed inside the rectangle where all the numbers are. These bets offer a better payout, but if you are a beginner you should be careful, anyhow, if you have a lucky hunch then you should go for it. Here are all the inside bets you can place:

  • Straight up – this is the bet that offers the highest payout. You place your bet on one single number and if you guessed right you will receive a 35 to 1 payout. And, if you can’t decide on only one lucky number you can place as many straight-up bets as you want.

  • Split – this is a bet on two numbers next to each other on the table.

  • Street – this is a bet on any number within a row of three numbers.

  • Corner – this bet is similar to the split bet, but here you will bet on four numbers. The numbers need to form a square on the table.

  • Line – this bet is similar to a street bet, but instead here you are covering two rows of three numbers.

  • Five-number bet – this is a bet on the following numbers 0, 00, 1, 2, and 3.

  • Basket – this is a bet on the numbers 0, 1, 2, and 3.

  • Snake bet – this bet covers the following numbers 1, 5, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 23, 27, 30, 32, and 34.

Live Poker

Live Poker

Another very popular game you can play at Betmaster is Poker. This is a great game with lots of different variants, and these are the ones that you can find at the casino:

  • Casino Hold'em
  • Texas Hold'em Bonus Poker

But before you start playing poker, you need to learn the basic rules. You have to know how the betting works and to learn the hand rankings. This is something you will master very fast we are sure, and once you do that you will enjoy it more.

The thing here is that you have to learn the rules by heart before you decide to play for real money, because if you don’t know the hand rankings, you can discard a good card, for instance.

Poker Tournaments

One of the most exciting parts of playing poker is to take part in tournaments. It is very easy to join a tournament where you have to pay a buy-in and you will receive a set number of chips to play. There are different types of tournaments you can take part in and we will mention some of the most popular ones:

  • Freezeouts – In this type of tournament you receive a set number of chips and once you lose those you are out.

  • Rebuys – In these types of tournaments you are allowed to buy more chips once you lose all of the ones you initially bought.

  • Bounty – In these types of tournaments, part of your buy-in goes toward the prize pool and the rest of it goes to any player who knocks you out of a tournament.

  • Progressive Knockout – These types of tournaments are becoming more and more popular lately. Here, you will collect half your opponent’s bounty when you knock them out, and the other half is added to your bounty.

  • Sit ‘n Goes – These kinds of tournaments start immediately as every seat is filled and the prize pool is shared among players.

3-card Poker Rules

Most poker games are 5-card variants, but you can find some 3-card games as well. Here you bet that you have a better hand than the dealer and the rankings are as follows:

  • Straight Flush
  • Three of a Kind
  • Straight
  • Flush
  • Pair
  • High Card

5-card Draw Poker Rules

5-card poker was the most popular variant before Texas Hold’em took the poker world like a storm. The idea here is to turn your hand into a better 5-card poker hand by exchanging up to 5 cards. The winning hands are the following:

  • Royal Flush
  • Straight Flush
  • Four of a Kind
  • Full House
  • Three of a Kind
  • Two Pair
  • One Pair
  • High Card

In Omaha, you will receive 4 hole cards and 5 community cards to make the best 5-card hand. You will have to use 2 of your cards and 3 of the community cards.

7-card Stud Rules

7-card Stud is played in Las Vegas during the World Series Poker. In this variant, you will receive 2 cards face-down and 1 card face-up. And, during the betting, you will receive three more face-up cards and a final face-down card.

Mississippi Stud

Mississippi Stud is a game that is played against the dealer only, which takes the pressure of the game a lot. The game starts with an ante wager and you will receive two hole cards face down. These are the payouts and rankings of the hands in Mississippi Stud:

  • Royal Flush: 600/1
  • Straight Flush: 100/1
  • Four of a Kind: 40/1
  • Full House: 10/1
  • Flush: 6/1
  • Straight: 4/1
  • Three of a Kind: 3/1
  • Two Pair: 2/1
  • Pair of Jacks or higher: 1/1
  • Pair of sixes to tens: Push
