Bingo can take many forms across the world, but in Georgia there are two main categories: traditional bingo and variant bingo. Traditional bingo can include 90 balls, 80 balls or 75 balls, while variant bingo may include pattern games, blackout games, low-ball games or letter-number games.
Traditional bingo is much more well-known and popular, as it is the classic game that many people are familiar with. In traditional bingo, the player marks off a series of numbers in a straight line across their scorecard. The first to complete this pattern is the winner and shouts 'bingo'. In traditional 90 ball bingo, players are usually required to match all numbers in a single line to win, but in 75 and 80 ball bingo games the player may also win by completing the pre-set pattern.
Variant bingo offers a more varied selection of patterns and play styles, and may also include Power Ups and other features that can help players gain more points or win more quickly. Variant bingo includes blackout, pattern games and letter-number games. In blackout bingo, players must mark off all of the numbers on their scorecard in order to win, while in pattern bingo they must create a predefined pattern with the numbers on their scorecard. Letter-number bingo combines the two, where players must fill in numbers and create a letter at the same time to win.
