Keno (often spelled kino) is an easy lottery-style game that can be found in both physical and online casinos. It's very popular in Zambia and is often found in pubs, clubs, and other traditional venues. The player chooses a series of numbers (called āspotsā) on a Keno card and then bets on those numbers. The card itself is a grid of 80 randomly generated numbers. The game's objective is for the player to match as many of the numbers they chose to the random numbers that the house draws.
Keno is considered one of the oldest forms of gambling, and a game that has been around for centuries, with its beginnings in China. The game spread around the world, arriving in West Africa in the lateg 1800s, and eventually becoming popular in the continent.
