Mahjong is a four-player Chinese game in which players try to build sets and sequences from a pile of tiles. It usually takes one round to play the game but it can be repeated for several rounds at the discretion of the players. The main goal is to create either four identical tiles; four identical sets of 3; or four identical sequences of 3. The game begins with two tiles and each player in clockwise order must take two tiles in turn. Once the tile pile has been depleted, players may then start to create sets and sequences. The remaining tiles on the board may be taken to form part of the set or sequence. Once a set or sequence is completed, it must be declared and then the player may draw new tiles. The player with the largest set or sequence wins the round.
