Mahjong is arguably one of the oldest card-based games and is widely popular in Namibia. It is an old Chinese game that initially was played with manual tiles. It is believed to have originated over 500 years ago. With changing times, the traditional version of the game has been replaced by its online avatar, making it more exciting and convenient. Mahjong requires 4 players for a game to begin. The objective of the game is for each player to assemble Mahjong tiles in their ‘hand’ and meld them into sets. There are two types of sets called ‘chi’ and ‘pon’, and the game goes on until one player accumulates a winning the score.
