Pai Gow is a traditional Chinese domino game played with a set of 32 dominoes. The name Pai Gow literally translates to āmake nineā, referring to the fact that the number nine is the highest number that can be achieved in the game. The game involves two players, and the objective is to divide a four-domino hand into two sets, one with two dominoes and one with three dominoes, such that the three-domino set has a higher value than the two-domino set. The value of the sets is determined by adding up the pips on the dominoes; the two-domino set must have a value of five or less, and the three-domino set always has a value of nine.
