Pai Gow is an exciting Chinese-originated gambling game dating back to the 19th century. It is mostly popular in East Asian countries and in casinos in Macau. Pai Gow Poker is a modified version of the classic game which is played with a standard deck of cards, and is mostly popular in the United States and in other countries.
The basic aim of the game is to create two winning poker hands out of seven card hands. The player or dealer competes with each other in playing the appropriate tiles in order to win the round. The players get seven cards and divide them into two hands, each consisting of five and two cards. The strongest hand of five cards is referred to as the ‘high’ hand, and the weaker two-card hand is referred to as the ‘low’ hand. The goal of the high hand is to beat the dealer’s high hand, and the goal of the low hand is to beat the dealer’s low hand.
