Pai Gow is one of the oldest and most popular gambling games that originated in China. The objective of the game is to make two hands from the seven cards each player is dealt at the start of the game. One hand must be of two cards and called the low hand, and the other of five cards and called the high hand. The highest hand the player can make is a five-of-a-kind, known as the Iwari.
To win, both the player’s low and high hands must beat the banker/dealer’s low and high hands. Betting and winnings can vary depending on the rules of the bank or house. If the player’s hands tie with those of the house, then the banker will win.
