Texas Holdem, also known as Texas Hold'em or Holdem Poker, is the most popular variant of the card game of poker. It is a community card game that can be played with at least two players and as many as twenty. The form of the game first originated in Robstown, Texas in the early 1900s and was introduced to Las Vegas in 1967. The objective of the game is to make the best five card hand combination out of the two pocket cards (hole cards) and five community cards laid out over three rounds of betting. In Texas Holdem, players will use chips to bet and raise each other when competing for the pot, which is the amount of money or chips that are collected throughout the game.
