Players begin by placing their bets and then picking their cards. Depending on the variation of Video Poker, players are typically dealt five cards. After receiving their cards, players can decide which ones to keep and which to discard. Naturally, players will want to keep cards that could potentially lead to a big win, such as pairs and better.
Once the discards have been made, the remaining cards are replaced with new ones. The type of Poker that the player is playing will determine the hand rankings. A pair of jacks usually results in a win in most Video Poker variations.
The more difficult winning combinations include two pair, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house and four of a kind. Depending on the variation, players may also find additional bonuses.
