Video Poker is an electronic version of five-card draw poker. It is called “video” poker because it is a computerized game that appears on a screen similar to a television set. Players of video poker insert money into the machine, either coins or notes, with the aim of making a winning poker hand. The combination of five cards decides the prize a player may receive.
In contrast to slot machines, video poker players can use strategy to improve their chances of victory. Players can calculate how the cards are likely to appear and can decide which pay table to use to increase their chances of a higher return.
