Video Poker is an exciting online gambling game variation of five-card draw poker. While more traditional poker variations involve a ‘dealer’ and ‘players’ Video Poker is a game of ‘player versus machine’. The objective in Video Poker is to create the best possible five-card hand, with players being awarded varying prizes depending on the strength of the poker hand.
In Video Poker, each hand is dealt randomly and the machine then determines the outcome of the game. The game begins with the player selecting the size of their wager, followed by being dealt five cards. Once the player has reviewed their cards, they must select which cards to hold and which ones to discard. The game will then evaluate the player’s video poker hand and award them a win accordingly.
The four main types of Video Poker are Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild, Joker Poker, and Tens or Better. Different variations within these categories may also exist. In Jacks or Better, players need to have a pair of face cards (Jack, Queen, or King) or higher to win. In Deuces Wild, twos are the 'wild' cards which can substitute for any other card in Video Poker, making it easier for players to create a higher poker hand. In Joker Poker, one Joker is added to the five-card deck to create a number of winning possibilities. While, in Tens or Better, players only need a pair of tens or higher to win.
