A game that’s just as popular in Israel today as it was thousands of years ago, craps is an ancient and venerated game of chance. Also known as hazard, the game has roots all the way back to the ancient Roman and Greek empires. In fact, references to craps have been found in writings dating as far back as 2300 BC, making it one of the oldest known games still played today.
Though the game has been seen in forms dating to ancient times, modern craps originated in colonial America, without the rule set we know it by today. During the 19th century, the game was tweaked and modernized, evolving into the modern craps game we know and love today.
