Punto Banco is a card game played with 8 decks of cards in which each player competes against the banker. The name ‘Punto Banco’ comes from the Spanish word ‘punto’, meaning dealer or banker, and ‘banco’, meaning banker. In Punto Banco, players have the opportunity to bet on either Punto, which stands for the dealer, or Banco, which stands for the banker. In terms of the cards being dealt, the dealer always deals themselves first, followed by the other players in turn, so that no one knows what the other players’ cards will be.
Players also have the option to bet on a “tie”, which is a bet that all the cards in both hands will be the same. This is known as a “tie bet” in Punto Banco.
