Baccarat is a card game that can be played by up to 14 players. The game is played with eight decks of cards including four jokers. The aim of the game is to get a point total closer to nine than the other players. The most popular variant of Baccarat is Punto Banco, although other versions are available such as Baccarat Chemin de Fer and Baccarat Banque.
The game starts with each player placing a bet on either the Player, the Banker or Tie. After the bets are placed, two cards are dealt to both the Player and the Banker. The Player's cards are dealt face up and the Banker's cards are face down. The value of the cards are depending on their numerical value; the ace has a value of one, the two and three have their face value, the four, five and six have a value of four, the seven, eight and nine have a value of seven and the ten and the jokers have a value of zero.
The Player and Banker can receive additional cards, depending on the total of the first two cards. If the Playerās total is between zero and five, he can get one more card. If his total is between six and nine, no more cards are drawn. The Banker can receive one more card if his total is between zero and two, and two more cards if his total is between three and six.
The highest total a player can have is nine and the lowest total a player can have is zero. If the two hands are equal, the round is a tie and is a push. The individual with the highest total closest to nine wins the round. If either the Player or Banker attains a total of nine, then the round is a Natural and that person wins the round.
