Bingo is one of the oldest and most appreciated card games in Madagascar. The origins of the game go back to the early 20th century, with references to the traditional card game āChemin de Ferā, an ancestor of bingo, the game of chance that was popular in French colonies. This game was organized in convents and institutions, but also on board ships during long trips, even in Madagascar. It is believed that the modern version of bingo that we know today was adapted from the game āChemin de Ferā and adapted for use in orphanages and railways, and eventually bingo was born.
