Poker is a card game of chance, skill, and strategy that is popular among Hungarians. The basic rules of poker are the same no matter where in the world it is played. The game usually involves two or more players that compete against each other to form the best hand. In Hungarian poker, players use the traditional 52-card deck, without any jokers or wild cards. Each player is dealt two hole cards face down and five community cards are then drawn and dealt face up in the center of the table. The community cards are shared by all of the players and can be used in any combination with the hole cards in order to make a five-card poker hand.
The first round of betting is followed by the dealing of three more cards face up in the center of the table, commonly referred to as the flop. After the flop round of betting is completed, a fourth card is dealt face up, referred to as the turn, followed by another round of betting. A fifth and final card is then dealt face up, known as the river, which completes the board with five community cards. A final round of betting is followed by a showdown, in which the remaining players must reveal their hole cards in order to make a five-card hand. The player with the best-valued hand composed of both hole cards and community cards is considered the winner.
