The game starts off with the blinds. The two players to the left of the dealer are the small and big blinds. On each street, each player must either match or raise the current bet or fold. The goal is to make the best five-card hand by using two personal cards and three of the five community cards.
The game of Texas Hold'em starts with each player being dealt two cards face down (the āholeā cards).
The first round of betting takes place, starting with the player to the left of the two who posted the blinds. This player can either check or bet.
After the betting round is complete, the first three community cards, called āthe flopā, are dealt face up on the table. Another round of betting takes place beginning with the first player to the left of the dealer who remains in the hand.
The fourth and fifth community cards, āthe turnā and āthe riverā, are then dealt face up on the table. After each of these cards are dealt, a round of betting takes place, beginning with the first player to the left of the dealer.
Once all the cards have been dealt, it is time for the players to show their hands. The winning player will be the one who has the best five-card combination, using both of their hole cards and three of the community cards.
If two players have the same kind of hand, the player with the highest-ranking cards (for example, four aces beats four kings) will be declared the winner.
