Video poker is an electronic casino game based on five-card draw poker, which is identical to the game you would encounter in a real-life setting. The basic rules of video poker are the same as those of five-card draw poker. As with any poker variant the player is dealt five cards, and must decide which to keep and which to discard. After the player chooses which cards to keep and which to discard, the remaining cards are replaced with fresh ones from the deck.
Unlike classic poker, video poker does not involve any opponent. Instead, you are competing against a paytable, with the goal of achieving a certain combination of cards to win. Payouts depend on the strength of your hand, with the best possible hand for each version of video poker being five-of-a-kind.
