Pai Gow is a relatively easy game to play and understand. It is a variation of standard poker that requires players to create a two-card hand and a five-card hand from the seven cards given to them. The goal of the game is to form better hands than the dealer and there should be no ties.
To start the game each player receives seven cards from the 52-card deck. The hand should then be divided into two – one is the five-card hand, the other is the two-card hand. Both hands should then be compared to the dealer's similar hands. In most cases, the best five-card hand should be lower than the best two-card hand.
Points are awarded as follows: one point is awarded for each hand won, and one point is awarded for each hand that ties. All points are added together to decide the winner.
