The game of Punto Banco consists of two cards being dealt to both the banker and the player. Every card has a point value, with Ace being 1, 10 and all picture cards 0, and all other cards being their respective values. Once both the banker and player have been dealt two cards, the total is calculated and added together. A third card may be drawn if the player or bankerās total is lower than 5.
If their total is 8 or 9, then they have a ānaturalā (or āpuntoā in Italian or ābancoā in Spanish) and the game is over. If they do not have a natural, then the banker can draw again to beat the player. If the player stands, then the banker will draw in accordance with a set of rules.
