Video poker is a casino game known as one of the earliest video games that originated in the 1970s. The game is a variation of the classic five-card draw poker, adapted for the video screen and featuring an automated dealer. In the simplest yet most attractive version, two or more players insert coins or tokens into the slot machine, after which each player is dealt five cards in a random order. After the initial deal, players can choose to keep some of their cards and discard the others in an attempt to improve their existing hand. The discarded cards are then replaced by new ones from the same deck, either automatically by the machine or manually by the player. The player can then repeat the process again, discarding and replacing cards. The value of the remaining five-card hand determines the amount of money the player can win.
